Motivation Tips For Studying | Ally

Hey guys!!! It is I, Ally. It’s finally Ally’s week again so this calls for a mini celebration with emojis… πŸ˜€πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜œπŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ I hope you enjoyed my little DIY and tried it out. If you haven’t read it then you’ve missed out but I’ve got your backs covered so just click here. (I sounded so self-confident)

Anyways for this week’s post by the one and only me, well it’s already said in the title but I’ll just say it again I’ll be doing a little post on how to stay motivated to study or it might work for other things as well. I’m speaking from experience and I’ll be sharing how I stay motivated when I’m studying for exams or tests. Honestly, most of us out there would be telling the biggest lies of our lives if we said we loved studying…but being motivated to study is a different story.

1.     Writing pretty notes
There’s just this tiny little feeling called ‘satisfaction’ when you’ve got pretty notes to study with. Personally, I get really envious of people who post pretty notes on their instas because I don’t really take the time to do it but I really wish I did have pretty notes to refer to.

I apologise for the bad attempt of writing pretty notes. I'm working on it!
2.     Inspirational quotes
This may seem like nothing much but I think that inspirational or motivational quotes can really motivate someone to strive for what they want. Like me, I just randomly leave sticky notes with little messages or printed quotes all over my room just to remind me of different things. It kinda depends what kind of messages/reminders you’d like to give yourself. For example, maybe quotes to keep you going and not give up…

It's an inside joke between the 3 of us...πŸ˜‰
3.     Pictures to motivate
This tip kinda coincides with the previous one. I’m that type of person that would rather see my goals than just fantasize about them. So, printing pictures and sticking them all around my room really helps motivate me and keep me going. It could be pictures of your family members, friends, dream university or maybe even your favourite idol.

4.     Listening to piano covers of Kpop songs
This is something I only recently started doing. I randomly came across a YouTube video for this and I became so intrigued. Now, it’s kinda like my study routine to study with piano covers playing in the background. The best part is that I’m listening to Kpop even when I’m studying so that’s a bonus! The reason why I started doing this is because I can’t really focus if it’s just complete silence so music is the best way to soothe the soul.

5.     Drawing
I’d like to think of myself as an artistic person. However, I’m not saying that I’m the next Picasso or anything. Somehow, drawing or even doodling just helps me de-stress. Drawing is one of those activities that allow me to escape into another world.

6.     Taking breaks in between
Personally, I don’t believe that the longer you study, the more productive you are. It kinda depends on whether or not the information is entering your brain. For me, I divide my time when it comes to studying. For example, I’ll study for an hour consecutively and then take a 20-minute break. During that 20-minute break, I just do whatever it is I want to. I usually just go on YouTube to watch a few videos before I continue studying. This really helps me to not overstress and not get tired of studying easily. Which means I’ll be studying at a steadier pace. I don’t know…it works for me…so maybe try it out for yourself.

That’s all I have for this week’s post. I tried to relate it as close as possible to a typical person. I’m just trying to share with you guys a few ways I stay motivated to continue doing something whether it be studying or getting an assignment done. If you’ve got any other tips that you’d like to share, I’d love to hear about it.

Byesss,
Ally
